- Description
- Most commonly referred to as "Trumbull", this green belt follows the Pequonnock River north and south. The state forest lands are contiguous to several other municipal properties, allowing for many different loops and for different skill levels. On the west side of the river is a rail trail. On the east side there is a variety of trails, most of which are quite technical. The singletrack is most easily accessed from the commuter parking lot off exit 9 of rt. 25. The red and yellow trails follow the upper ridges, the white stays in the middle ground, and the blue follows the river. The locals have invented colorful names for the interesting rock formations. Look for the Bat Cave, Picnic Table Rock, Slick Rock East, and the Serengetti.
