Pittsfield State Forest

Kona Bicycles MTB Adventure

Sunday, August 4, 2013

Come join the Berkshire chapter of NEMBA for a whole lot of riding and fun at the Pittsfield State Forest! The event will be held on August 4th starting at 9AM. There will be a 5 mile kids/family ride on singletrack and doubletrack trails, along with a 10 mile intermediate loop which will include a climb to the top of the mountain (on paved road or on more difficult trails) followed by a fun descent on the Turner Trail back to the bottom and finally there will be a 13-15 mile advanced loop which will include the addition of steeper, more technical trails, but will still include the fun descent down the Turner Trail. Ride fast or just cruise, the trails are arrowed so everyone knows where to go and you don’t have to worry about getting lost!

All the money raised by this event goes towards NEMBA trail projects in the Berkshires.

Riders can follow marked courses on their own at any time or take part in a led ride.

Schedule of Led Rides:

9:30 AM – Advanced Ride

10:00 AM – Intermediate Ride

10:30 AM – Beginner Ride

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy relax after the ride at the Lulu Cascade picnic area. Water and soda will be available.

The 10,000+ acre Pittsfield State Forest is located in Pittsfield Massachusetts, offers a few miles of easy singletrack mountain biking trails, the thrilling 2 mile long Turner Trail singletrack descent from the top of the mountain, several miles of challenging singletrack trails plus countless more miles of very rough ATV trails.

Come explore the park while helping a good cause. It’s a great way to spend the day and it’s a great place to ride!

Cost: The cost of the ride will be $10 for NEMBA members, $25 for non-members, and FREE to anyone who joins NEMBA on the morning of the ride.

All proceeds will be used to enhance mountain bike trails in the Berkshires.

Come camp and make a weekend out of it!
